Fishing on the Dean River is only accessible by plane or boat. “This river is arguably the finest steelhead river left on earth,” says Chef. “It’s like the Copper River for steelhead. Through natural selection, they’ve evolved into super creatures. They have to be extremely strong to make it up a series of falls to their spawning ground. Although I’ve caught steelhead by fly before, this is my first by swung fly. I’ve been waiting for this moment for five years!”

Trout Unlimited (www.tu.org) is dedicated to preserving, protecting and restoring North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds.
